AC Drain Line Cleaning in Greenacres and Palm Beach County

AC drain line cleaning in Greenacres is about one narrow PVC line. Your air conditioner pulls gallons of water out of the air every day, and all of it leaves through that line. In South Florida it clogs, and when it does the water goes somewhere you do not want it. Next Level Air Conditioning clears and services condensate drains across Palm Beach County from our office in Greenacres.
★★★★★
“Omar provided outstanding professional service identifying and correcting issues that existed in a neglected system. He prevented what would have been much more costly repairs. Highly recommend.”
Signs your drain line is clogging
- Water pooling around the air handler, or a damp spot on the floor near the closet
- A stain spreading on the ceiling below an attic unit
- The system shutting itself off for no obvious reason, then running again later
- A musty or sour smell when the air comes on
- Water dripping from an outdoor condensate line far more, or far less, than usual
- Gurgling from the air handler
The shutdown one surprises people. Most systems have a float switch in the pan that kills the system on purpose when water backs up. If your AC keeps stopping and starting for no reason you can see, the safety may be doing exactly what it was installed to do.
What we do
We clear the line, flush it, check the pan, and test the float switch to make sure the safety that is supposed to catch the next one actually works. If the line has a design problem, a sag, a missing cleanout, a run that was never going to drain properly, we will tell you rather than clearing it and leaving you to call again in four months.
The ceiling repair nobody budgets for
This is the cheapest problem on this website to prevent and one of the most expensive to ignore. A blocked drain sends water into the pan, and when the pan overflows it goes into the ceiling, the insulation, and the drywall. At that point the AC repair is the small line item.
A drain flush is part of every maintenance visit for this reason. If you do nothing else preventive on your system, do this one.
What affects drain line cleaning cost
You get the price before the work starts, not after.
Can you do it yourself
Partly, and we would rather you know how. Many homeowners keep the line clear by pouring a cup of distilled vinegar into the cleanout every month or two during cooling season. It helps, it is cheap, and it will not hurt anything.
What it will not do is clear a line that has already blocked solid, and a wet vacuum on the outdoor end is where a lot of DIY attempts go wrong, because pulling hard on a line with a crack or a bad joint can make a small problem into a wet ceiling. If the pan has standing water or the system has already shut itself off, that is the point to call.
Why it happens so much here
Warm, humid air across a cold coil produces a constant stream of condensate, and that damp line is an ideal place for algae and biological growth. It is not a sign anything was done wrong. It is the climate. What varies is how long the line goes between cleanings and whether anyone catches it before it blocks completely.
Older installations make it worse. A drain line with a sag in it holds standing water, and a line run without cleanouts means the only way to service it is harder than it should be. When we install a system we run the drain neatly and accessibly even where code does not require it, because the person servicing it in three years should not have to fight the install.

Frequently asked questions
Why does my AC drain line keep clogging?
In this climate algae and biological growth build up in a damp condensate line faster than most homeowners expect. It is normal for the line to need attention. What is not normal is letting it block completely, because then the water goes into the pan and then into your ceiling.
There is water coming through my ceiling. Is that my air conditioner?
If it is below or near an air handler, almost certainly yes, and a blocked drain line is the usual cause. Turn the system off so it stops making condensate, then call. Catching it early keeps it an AC repair instead of a drywall repair.
My AC keeps shutting off by itself. Could that be the drain?
Yes. Most systems have a float switch that shuts the unit down when water backs up in the pan. A system that stops and starts for no visible reason is a common symptom of a drain that is starting to block.
How often should the drain line be cleaned?
At least once a year, and it is part of every maintenance visit we do. Homes with pets, heavy dust, or a system that runs nearly year round can need it more often.
Can I pour vinegar down the line myself?
Yes, and it is worth doing. A cup of distilled vinegar in the cleanout every month or two during cooling season helps keep growth down. It will not clear a line that has already blocked solid.
Should I use a wet vacuum on the outside end?
Carefully, if at all. It works sometimes, but pulling hard on a line with a crack or a weak joint can turn a clog into a leak inside the house. If the pan already has standing water, or the system has shut itself off, get it looked at rather than pulling harder.
Does bleach work?
We do not recommend it. Bleach can damage the pan and fittings over time, and vinegar does the job without that risk.
Do you serve my city?
