Ductless Mini-Split Installation in Greenacres and Palm Beach County

Ductless mini-split installation in Greenacres is for the rooms that were never going to be comfortable on the existing ductwork: a garage, a converted Florida room, an addition, a home office over the garage. A ductless mini-split cools that space on its own without tearing into the rest of the house. Next Level Air Conditioning installs and repairs mini-splits across Palm Beach County from our office in Greenacres.

What's included

A mini-split install covers mounting the indoor head, setting the outdoor condenser, running and insulating the line set, running the condensate drain, making the electrical connection, and commissioning the system. The wall penetration gets sealed properly. The line set gets run neatly rather than draped, because a mini-split is visible in a way a ducted system is not.

Work covered on this page: ductless heating and A/C services, single-zone and multi-zone installation, and mini-split repair.

Where a mini-split is the right answer

  • A garage or workshop with no ductwork
  • A Florida room or enclosed patio that was never on the system
  • An addition where extending the existing ductwork would cost more than a dedicated unit
  • A room that is always hotter than the rest of the house no matter what the thermostat says
  • A home office or guest suite you want on its own temperature
  • An older home where running new duct means opening walls and ceilings

The case for a mini-split is usually not that it is cheaper than ductwork. It is that it gets one space comfortable without disturbing everything between here and there.

Single zone or multi zone

A single-zone system is one outdoor unit paired to one indoor head, which suits a garage conversion or a single problem room. A multi-zone system runs several indoor heads off one outdoor unit, each on its own temperature, which suits a whole addition or a house without ductwork at all.

Multi-zone costs more up front and usually less than installing several separate systems. Which one fits depends on how many spaces you are solving and how far apart they are.

What affects mini-split cost in Palm Beach County

What moves the number: single zone or multi zone, how many indoor heads, the capacity needed for the space, the distance from the indoor head to the outdoor unit, whether the electrical needs work, and whether the installation calls for elevated hurricane mounting.

Financing is available on new installations and major upgrades.

How long it takes

A straightforward single-zone install is usually a one-day job. Multi-zone systems take longer depending on how many heads are going in and how far the line sets have to run. Electrical work, if the panel needs attention, can add time.

Equipment and brands

We install Mitsubishi Electric and Cooper and Hunter mini-split systems, and we service every major ductless brand. We do not claim to be an exclusive dealer for any of them.

As with any HVAC equipment, installation quality determines how long a mini-split lasts far more than the brand does. A line set brazed without nitrogen flowing through it puts soot into the compressor regardless of whose name is on the box. We flow nitrogen on every brazed joint.

Do mini-splits heat as well as cool

Yes. Ductless systems are heat pumps, so they heat as well as cool, which covers the handful of cold nights South Florida gets each year. For a garage or a Florida room that is often the difference between a space you use year round and one you avoid in January.

Hurricane-ready mounting, which matters here

On coastal installations we elevate and protect the outdoor unit rather than setting it on the ground the way you would inland. In this part of Florida the threats are storm surge, wind-driven debris, and standing water after heavy rain, and a condenser sitting low is the first thing to go.

Elevated, anchored mounting costs a little more on installation day and saves the entire unit the first time the water comes up. We have done this on jobs from Pompano Beach north, and it is worth asking about if you are anywhere near the water or in a low-lying street.

Frequently asked questions

What does a ductless mini-split cost?

It depends mostly on whether you need one zone or several, and on the capacity the space requires. Elevated hurricane mounting and the distance from the head to the outdoor unit also matter. Estimates on new equipment are free.

Can a mini-split cool my garage in a Florida summer?

Yes, provided it is sized for the space and the garage has some insulation. A garage gains far more heat than a bedroom of the same size, through the door and the roof, so sizing matters more here than it does indoors.

Do I need ductwork for a mini-split?

No. That is the point of the system. The indoor head is fed by a refrigerant line set through a small wall penetration rather than by ducts, which is why it suits additions and older homes where running duct would mean opening walls.

Do mini-splits heat as well as cool?

Yes. They are heat pumps, so they handle both. For the few cold nights we get here that is usually all the heat a converted space needs.

How many indoor units can one outdoor unit run?

It depends on the system, but multi-zone setups commonly run several indoor heads from a single outdoor unit, each controlled separately. We will size it to the spaces you are trying to solve.

Should the outdoor unit be elevated?

Near the coast or on a low-lying street, yes. Elevated and anchored mounting protects the unit from storm surge, standing water and wind-driven debris. It costs a little more on installation day and saves the unit the first time water comes up.

Do you repair mini-splits as well as install them?

Yes, ductless heating and A/C service covers both.

Do you serve my city?

We are based in Greenacres and serve all of Palm Beach County plus Broward County.
